How they change growth-hormone signals
CJC-1295 mimics the brain signal that tells the pituitary gland to release growth hormone. In two controlled trials in healthy adults ages 21 to 61, one injection raised average growth hormone 2 to 10 times higher for 6 or more days and raised IGF-I, a growth signal made mainly by the liver, 1.5 to 3 times higher for 9 to 11 days (CJC-1295 trial). The half-life was about 6 to 8 days, meaning half the drug cleared in that time, and with repeat doses average IGF-I stayed above starting levels for up to 28 days. No serious adverse reactions were reported in those trials.
Ipamorelin acts on a different pituitary signal and produces a much shorter effect. In a timing study in healthy men, ipamorelin cleared with a half-life of about 2 hours and triggered a single pulse of growth hormone that peaked at about 0.67 hours and then fell to very low levels (ipamorelin timing study).

Those human trials measured hormone levels in blood. They did not measure sexual desire, daily energy, sleep quality, skin, hair or body fat, and none of the trials focused on women. The ipamorelin timing study enrolled only men.
