In rats with full-thickness skin wounds, parent-peptide treatment closed the surface faster than saline, and treated wounds showed more collagen and new vessel growth (rat wound study).

In people with moderate to severe dry eye, 0.1% parent-peptide eye drops for 28 days missed the two main measures, but comfort during a dry-eye challenge improved and two measures of corneal surface staining improved. No adverse events were reported in that trial (dry-eye trial).

In people treated after a major heart attack and stent procedure, those who received parent peptide within hours had less scarred area at 90 days, while the full trial group showed no clear difference. Mouse experiments linked the effect to a cell-survival pathway (heart trial). In healthy volunteers given intravenous parent peptide once and then daily for two weeks, side effects were infrequent and mild to moderate, with no dose-limiting toxicity or serious events (safety study).
